Come for a kayak around Port Vila Harbour. This is an easy kayak trip for those who think a full day might be a little too much.
Meet up at our office on the seafront next to Nambawan Café and Big Blue Dive at 1pm. We will do some paperwork, and meet your friendly guide.
Your guide will introduce you to the kayaks, which will be set up on our lawn waiting for you. We will put on Spray Skirts and Life Jackets and your guide will teach you how these kayaks works. The rudder and the best technique to paddle etc.
Once we are happy we will carry our boats down to the water where we will set off up the harbour. We will paddle past the handicraft markets and the local produce market. Cruising effortlessly passed some of the best restaurants in town and along millionaires row, where you will see the nice houses along the waterfront. The tour will cross over the channel to Iririki Island and we will skirt the island to the main cargo and cruise ship wharfs. Ifira Point and Ifira Island is next on our list to tick off. Once we arrive here we will stop and stretch our legs a little before paddling around the back side of Ifira Island. This is where we may spot a turtle swimming across the reef. The Harbour entrance and Malapoa point are next to conquer which is where you will have an amazing view of our beautiful harbour and the sites of Port Vila City in the distance.
The final stretch off this half day kayak is along the reef, next to Malapoa. A great area to spot a dugong lazing in the sea grass meadows. Returning to base just in time for a refreshing drink at Nambawan Café.
